Initially it was pure luck. Then it was all about the sheer determination of Alonso. I never believed that Renaults will win a race this season. So is Alonso. Even though Piquet found saying “sorry” in the Radio, I thing Piquet will be forgiven 100% by the Renaults crew because his accident brought the safety car out. The safety car helped Alonso as he just finished his pits stop.
The safety car period also saw Massa get screwed by some malfunction of the pit lights attached to the fuel rig and all. he light turned Green when the fuel rig being removed, inducing Massa to speed away with the pipe. Massa should have realised the big Anaconda clinching to his car but he did not. What a driver! Massa turned from Hero to Zero. He also had a 10 sceonds pit stop penalty for dangerous driving.
During safety car period 2 cars pit stopped due to low on fuel. One was Kubica and another one was Roseberg. After few lapse after the safety car period stewards decided to give 10 seconds pit stop penalty to both. Williams decided to use the 3 lap period to advantage and bought Rosberg only after he extended his lead over others who were held behind Trulli. He must thank Trulli and David Coultcard. Kubica came in immediately and paid heavy penalty.
Kimi was in his best. He enjoyed the race and after that he crashed the car as usual and walked away. Great Guy!
Hamilton worked his way and took a deserving third spot behind Roseberg.
After the win, Alonso brought tears in the eyes of Flavio Briatore. After the race, Alonso was sitting like a King in the test hall legs one over the other. I was curious how Alonso and Hamilton will interact. It was on expected line. Alonso well prepared like King, Hamilton arrived delayed but gave quick compliments and joined Roseberg.
I feel Ferrari should have delayed selection to the end of the season and should have taken Alonso in place of Kimi. A huge mistake which they will repent for years to come.
Roseberg still in Williams is sore to eyes. What Keke Roseberg is doing? I dont know. Roseberg should move to Renaults. That is my opinion. Whether the contract he hold will allow him is another question.
